Is it normal to experience dissociation without cause?

Basically since like ages ago I have experienced severe bouts of dissociation and its super scary. Any advice or insights?

I used to struggle with that a lot as a kid, and it was really unnerving. Apparently it's your body's natural response to stress and anxiety.

  • Hey so I actually am being treated for it by a psychiatrist however I never knew what was happening until recently which was quite scary. I agree that for me al least I dissociate in times of stress and anxiety even if I don't feel that particular way. Again there is so much to acknowledge at hand and I appreciate all your responses!

That in itself isn’t really a problem unless your behaviour in such states is causing problems.

Without crazy actions to go with it then it’s reduced to basically daydreaming...
