Is it normal to fail to communicate and talk to people because of fear ?!

Is it normal that whenever i talk to someone or even want to talk to someone without actually taking the initaitive , i fear that they wont like what i would say or judge me or look down on me ,and then i will go inside myself i become this small ,even though alot of times i would say the right thing when talking to people or KNOW things just wouldn't say them . that's why i fail at communicating with people or making friends

I think it is normal to tell yourself that people will react differently to you, and to put yourself down, even if you can see that it is unrealistic.

I believe, I have done the same thing myself, especially with the opposite sex, in my teen days, thinking that girls I hadn't talked to would think negatively about me if they weren't just indifferent. Today, I feel like, it is not that easy for me to regard as totally unrealistic, though others may see it as me having put myself down.

Work on overcoming those thoughts. A lot of the time, people will probably feel pretty much the same about you, as you do about them. And if you say something wrong, that doesn't define you, you can just correct it for the future.

I completely understand you, as I have social anxiety myself. I don't know whether you do or not- but others sometimes undermine how big of a deal it really is. Whenever I get shy around someone(often enough) I tend to come off as rude and abrupt as I avoid eye contact, and utter as few words as possible. Why? It's complicated. But you're not alone in this, and yes. It is normal for us. But- how do we overcome it? I don't have the answer my friend, as I am still contemplating that as well.

Fear of their race, huh? Just say it. Racist.
