Is it normal to feel bad for my friend?

I feel bad for him because he is an orphan who lives with his younger brothers and that he is starving and he can't pay any bills. It makes me feel very bad for him because he is in a tough situation where he can't buy anything to eat sometimes I often wish I could do something to help him.

I often imagine how it would be like to be in that situation.

    It's normal to sympathize with people that are struggling. He sounds like a victim of wage slavery.
