Is it normal to feel gross after drinking coffee?

I used to drink coffee every day but then that got expensive so i stopped, and now whenever i drink coffee, my stomach feels gross and my mouth feels dry despite the amounts of water i drink to stay hydrated. i drink coffee because it does the job of energizing me, but sometimes i feel like my body just cant take it anymore even if i get the smallest size coffee, but i need to stay up sometimes.. Also, i drink my coffee black so i know it couldnt be lactose intolerance or anything.. can anyone give me advice on what i can do to prevent my body from feeling this way after i drink coffee?

It's seemingly normal, but I voted not normal, simply because it convincingly only sounds normal, it's not normal to drink black coffee to the point you get sick, try a blander, less rich coffee, see what it's like and you won't feel so gross drinking it.

So I always drink coffee all the time so I don’t know the feeling. But try taking an energy drink like Red Bull. If you don’t want that much just take a little it helps restore my energy

Could be that your body is trying to tell you something.

As for needing caffeine in order to stay awake, not many people have a job that requires then to put in sixteen hours at work every day, so the odds are that you have time to get a decent amount of sleep if you give that a higher priority.

It is very acidic and a bit of a diuretic. Perhaps you could drink very weak coffee relatively slowly. You could try teas with caffeine for the energy, but that aren't as rough on the body. Also you could just take caffeine pills or even try other natural stimulants for an energy boost.

Not sure how you fix it but I know exactly the feeling. You probably built up a large tolerance while you were drinking it a lot and now strong black coffee is just too much for your body to handle.
