Is it normal to feel guilty about not listening to an artist anymore?

I've recently drifted away from a few bands that I've been obsessed with for the past 2-3 years. Whenever I check my last.fm account and see that a musician isn't in my top artists anymore, I feel bad since I was a fan for such a long time and now I'm 'neglecting' them. IIN?

Don't worry, we all do this as we age and our tastes develop. I can see why you would feel a little sad, like you're leaving them behind, but it's good that you're listening to new things and keeping your mind open.

I don't think it's normal to feel *guilty* about it, but it's perfectly fine that your tastes are evolving. I would only listen to grunge and heavy metal in my late teen years, now I've gone "softer" in my early 20s by listening to more dream pop... I guess it's a part of growing up.
