Is it normal to feel like failing a test is rude to the teacher?

I'm in university and I lost track of time, didn't realize a midterm was today, failed it miserably. I want to cry, not because I care about the grade so much as I feel like I have disappointed/offended the teacher by doing so poorly (it's an upper level class and not super small but not like a full lecture hall or anything) is it normal to feel terrible in this situation because I feel like the instructor must hate me now? Or do you think they don't really give a shit?

As long as they get their bonus. You might have raised concerns with those who are going to inspect his performance, but there might be a chance you can retake. Try not to worry too much. Everything will be fine. Clear your head and look forward.

teacher in universities or professors usually dont give a rats ass lol. They are there to research and earn that paycheck. Teaching for the most part is some additional aspect of their job description. Dont beat yourself over it. Just move that thought along.
