Is it normal to feel this way about my boyfriend's crush on his instructor?

My boyfriend had a crush on his acting coach in the past.

After a workshop with her last weekend, he hasn't been able to go five minutes without mentioning something hilarious or awesome she has said or done. This has been going on for a week straight.

Today during one of these stories - I pointed out that it's clear he still has a crush on her. His response was that it isn't romantic (but indeed still a crush). (what!?)

It isn't as simple as he thinks she is beautiful (he does). He is also fascinated with her personality, charmed by her sense of humor, and he is deeply endeared to how dedicated and successful she is to her work, etc.

I am feeling completely intimidated and inadequate despite my absolute faith in him. There is no way I could compete with this person if she returned his feelings (she doesn't).

What would you do/think/feel? Is this normal?

    If he's not cheating on you physically, he is cheating on you emotionally.

    Judging by your well put characterization, I'd say you're an emotionally deep person, and most definitely deserve someone that cares for you more than anything in the world.

    And you can have that.

    I really don't think you have anything to worry about. I feel the same about one of my instructors but it is just a crush. I've been dating my bf for 2 years, I've known this professor for about 4 but really, I could never act on it even if he did feel the same way. I don't think it's anything to worry about...it's kinda the same as having a crush on an actor/actress.

    It's normal to feel this way but you also have to have faith in yourself. He is dating you for a reason
