Is it normal to forget to go frm 2nd to 3rd gear when the musics on in the car?

While I drive with the music on I cant hear the engine and because the range of 2nd gear, from 10mph to 50mph, I end up forgetting to go to 3rd gear, then the song will end and ill hear the engine roaring and realize ive left it in second again.

Perhaps you should turn the music off if it's distracting you from operating a car properly.

Music can be so distracting. Stop listening to it while driving then.

Agreed, you should turn your music down, or shouldn't be driving. Sorry.

How would you not notice, if your going 50mph in second gear you must have your pedal to the metal and your car is gonna be vibrating more from the high rpm. I can tell when to shift just from feeling the vibrations through the stick, how far im pushing the pedal, and occasionally checking the tachometer. Maybe you should get used to checking the tach as its a visual indicator rather then relying on what you hear.

regardless of the reasons but if you forget to change gears, you probably shouldnt be driving or should get an automatic car. actually, just dont drive if you arent focused on just driving because changes are you are going to kill someone on the road because of your negligence.
