Thanks. I posted it more as a statement of fact. I didn't mean it to seem like a play for sympathy. It leaves you with a feeling of unreality how someone who has always been a big part of your life just doesn't exist anymore. Like the flick of a switch. Poof, they're gone.
I understand, I just wanted to offer my condolences because I know that must be one of the most difficult things a person can go through. I can't imagine. I went through similar with my step-dad who was in my life since I was 5, who passed when I was a teen, and you're right, it doesn't feel real and it's hard to get used to their absence.
That's awful, I'm really sorry to hear that. Getting annoyed by punctuation is really vapid by comparison. I hope things get easier and that you've got people to help you through anything you might be struggling with
Me too. Is it even a choice, though? My phone's keyboard only has one set of quotation marks, which are omnidirectional. Maybe on a computer, they are different (I haven't really paid attention to those for a long time, despite typing on them for work 🤣).
Better than having no opening quotation mark” or no “closing quotation mark. You just want to throw extra symbols somewhere on the page so they're not quoting to infinity.
Mine are "omnidirectional" so that's not really a problem when I write on my phone.
Kinda anal about the direction though if I'm on a keyboard. Though I never go on this site with a laptop. My phone is way easier for forums.
Mine don't face either direction on gboard my computer broke so I haven't used a keyboard in like 2 years
Mine always do that , because I add unnecessary spaces between “ symbols “
