Is it normal to get severe abdominal pains with no other symptoms

The pains only last about 3-5 minutes but are very strong (have woken me from sleep). It happens maybe 3 times a month, at random; even when I eat healthy. They come out of nowhere and then just go away. I don't fart or poop or anything afterwards. This has been happening for years but I always forget to bring it up at the doctors because it is so intermittent. IIN?

I ignored that for a year, then ended up in emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder.

It could be a range of things. No one but a doctor can tell you.

  • Pain that wakes you from sleep is a red flag. See a doctor as soon as possible.

pain is your body's way of telling you "something is wrong in this area". you had that for years but didn't get it checked out? why are you asking strangers online instead of a doctor? go get that checked out or else one day when you least expect it it's time to go to the ER and get surprise surgery yay! which do you prefer? go make an appointment.
