Is it normal to go insane from tinitus

My tinitus is extemely loud and obnoxious tonight and it's driving me bat shit cray.

Do people go insane from it. It's seriously like water torture only it can't be shut off.

I wanna stab my fucking ears. I'd rather be deaf than hear this.

Try cleaning them with perioxide or something good for infections. You'll feel the bubbling (and may enjoy it), but wash it out and the tinitus may heal.

I'd buy a loud fan tomorrow and put it right next to your bed.

    • Thanks but you can't drown out noise that originates in your ear.

          • Not a fan specifically but all kinds of other white noise.

With all due respect, this wasnt my question.

Do people go insane from it?

Try holding your breath until it goes away... Fill your cheeks up with air if you need to, that sometimes helps. Also don't forget to breathe in if you need to; i'm not telling you you should hold it in till you pass out, just that after you breathe in you have to do it again if it hasn't gone away.

No. However it can cause extreme psychological torment. There are a number of techniques that can be implemented to lessen that though such as therapy, meditation, even things like improving diet and exercise. Psychological problems are unlike some physical ones in that the solutions aren't so straightforward. If you however do nothing to help yourself you may consider yourself "going insane" though what you're referring to is unmanaged anxiety and anger.
