Is it normal to go to a high school reunion, say, 10 years after graduation?

I've just come to realize that next year it's going to be 10 years since I graduated high school. I hope I don't get invited to any of those annoying reunions. If I do, I'm really not planning on going. I've done close to nothing with my life in this 8 1/2 years (unemployed, still living with my parents, and a very long etcetera), and this is very unlikely to change in the year and a half I have left. I really don't feel like giving any explanations, or making excuses for myself or anything, so fuck it. Things just didn't work out for me, what can I say?

If you are 20+, how about you?

I'm happy with the way things went, I'd go. 11
I'm happy with the way things went but I'm not interested in going. 11
I'm not happy with the way things went nor ashamed for it, I'd go. 10
I'm unhappy w/ the way thngs went, not ashamed, still no interest. 10
I'm unhappy with the way things went and ashamed, so I wouldn't go. 3

I didn't go to my 10yr thing. I hated most of those people, why would I want to inflict that on myself?

I'd go just to show off how successful I've been. Especially to the "popular" people, whose lives are now in the shitter.

Not surprised to see a lot of people on IIN were loners or bullied in HS. That explains why every question on here gets bias as hell answers.

I didn't go to mine. I don't think I'd mind it too much. I got over the hell they put me through. And I'm probably a lot more successful and happy than the lot of them. But I have better things to do with my time.

    Yes, I am that arrogant.

Maybe you're looking at this the wrong way. Maybe you'll find an old high school friend who will be the connection you need to finally get your life back on track.

I wouldn't mind going if at least my bff went too, just to experience it. I don't have the worst life, but I'm far from successful. I have nothing to brag about aside from my car and my beautiful daughter, but i don't like to brag anyway. Most people from my hs were pretty cool, even the preppies, so i would definitely consider going. If i don't though, no big deal. I wish it weren't so much about showing off, then it would seem more fun.

Not happening. I only got to know 25% of the alumni, due to the high school being separated into four small schools. Everybody in my school was fake, and segregation among the alumni wasn't cool. I have better things to do than associating with people that would waste my time.

Separated by like...red and yellow, black and white? That's fucked up.

Im not planning on going to mine. In highschool I had to socialize with them. Wasnt pleased with any of them so I just put up a front. My real friends were who I worked with.

I just graduated and I already have ideas about how my reunions would go. I personally don't believe I'll be going to any of mine regardless of how I am at that time but that's just because of how much I hated high school. Although I went with my dad to his high school reunion (he never wanted to go and was completely anti-social)and he seemed like he really had a lot of fun.

I'm not planning to go to my high school reunion. High school was not the highlight of my life. It was filled with teenage angst. Most of the people I knew were acquaintances who I have no desire to see again. It would be truly boring.
