Is it normal to go to the nude beach with friends?

My girlfriend recently convinced me to go to the nude beach with her. I said I'd go, but not for a few weeks as I'm really busy. The next morning, she informed me that she had invited 4 or 5 of her closest friends to come with us to the beach, and told me I was free to invite any of my friends to come along as well. So I invited my 4 closest friends. I had seen them all naked before heaps of times so it was no big deal. Is it normal to go to the nude beach with your friends in a large group?
