I bite my lip when I see a cute animal, and I sometimes get the urge to hug them really tight, though I know better and treat them gently. I think it's normal, it's just an overwhelming feeling of cuteness! Just make sure to not pet too roughly!

When rats are happy, and content they do a thing where they grind their teeth, it's called bruxing. Sometimes rats will brux to self sooth when they have anxiety.

I miss having rats in my life!

Yes I do that to cute things too. It’s sort of an overwhelm response to cuteness I think.

Not weird, you are having a physical reaction to cute things!
How are you with animals? I used to pick up my cats, bite them lightly and give them a long loud kissy.

Yeah weird, I kind of grind my teeth if I’m about to have a viscous outburst of some kind.
