Is it normal to hate a game purely based on people talking about it?

Hi, my name is <removed> and I'm an avid gamer. However, when people merely talk about certain games, I'm instantly put off. I'm sure the games are very enjoyable, but simply because everyone talks about it so much, it's driving me away from those games. Is this normal?

PS: The games I'm talking about are Fallout 4 and CS:GO in particular.

    The only game I'd buy a system for would be Red Dead Redemption 2
