Is it normal to hate facebook notifications that have nothing to do with you?

I'm on Facebook a lot. Don't get me wrong, I like it (and I'm not trying to be selfish either), but whenever I "like" or comment on someone's status, photos, notes, videos, etc., I get notifications about how "this person commented on that person's status/photo/note/video"...I really don't care, really I don't. In other words I get notifications on Facebook that don't even involve me and I find it very annoying. I tried setting my account to where I wouldn't get them but it doesn't do any good. Is this normal?

    omg yes! i hate it when i "like" or comment on something, and then get notifications for the rest of my life when someone comments after me. sooo annoying!

    I hate when I have 5 notification s and they are from peoe who commented on a status or picture that I already commented on.
