Is it normal to have a crush on my professor

I have a crush on my professor. I am a 26 year old full time college student majoring in geology and she is my 29 year old unmarried, uncommited geology professor. I don't want to hold anything back so i'm just gonna lay it all on the line. We both love geology and have fun outdoors I have even went as far as fantasizing about being married to her and the whole white picket fence and being her knight and shining armor to rescue her.

However, from past experiences I do realize it's probably all just a fantasy good for day dreaming but not a reality. I have decided not to pursue the issue as she probably doesn't feel the same way I do. My plan is to just let the crush go and be myself, way I figure is if she will ever like me it will probably be for just being myself and if not then it wasn't mean to be. It sounds like a good plan but the crush is little difficult to just turn off although I probably just need some time for it to sink in.

Man I feel pretty embarrassed saying that I actually fantasized about marring her, but hey I have accepted the fact that I am not getting any younger and finishing my education, getting married and having kids is starting to sound like something that would make me happy. I know I have kinda answered my own questions here I was just wondering if this was a normal thing and would love some good comments or similar experiences. Thank you =D

    So are the actions I described above correct in what I should do? Some say I should wait until I graduate myself so i'm more of a equal with my professor in terms of education.

    Do you see her at all when she is not in class? do you talk to her? Maybe you should lay it on the line and tell her. I honestly don't think that there is anything against A college professor dating a student. I know a high school teacher can get in trouble, but everyone is an adult is in college.

    Eh I stick with my original train of thought. I'm just going to be myself and whatever happens happens, I'm not going to try an force anything. And I do not want her to possible get into trouble over me. This is all considering she finds me attractive which may or may not be true.

    She also seems to have a strong set of morals which I admire because I also have a strong set of morals. However, I doubt she would jeopardize her career for a possible romantic relationship with one of her students.

    So pretty much i have solved my own riddle of what I'm going to do. The only question left to answer is "Is it normal?

    It doesn't matter if it's your professor, there isn't much of an age difference.

    Normal. I had crushes on some of my profs too. I think it happens to everyone.
