Is it normal to have a favorite field trip

One of my favorite things about school was class field trips. I have fond memories of going to the pumpkin patch every year to pick out pumpkins and ride the train. I also enjoyed going to the woods to pan for gold. I was wondering if you guys had any favorite school trips you went on. I'd love to hear about them.

let me tell you about it 21

Hmm, I'm trying to remember them. These are all only going to be from Primary School trips, by the way. The first one that instantly sprung to mind was one I didn't even go on! One of the very few days I missed school (I was ill) was on one of the trips to the beach, and this one is particularly memorable because of course on this occasion the Newcastle United Football players were practicing at the beach, so everyone got to meet them but me! I was so annoyed about that when I found out! Although, thankfully, Alan Shearer was not there, which lessened the blow significantly.:P

Keeping with the Football thing, we had a couple of trips to St. James' Park in Newcastle. I remember one time we all got to meet Peter Beardsley, and I got his autograph. I also remember how fancy the toilets were, I was so impressed. And the gift shop! So many sweets! And on possibly another occasion, a bunch of schools were there, all having some little song or dance or something to perform. All that's standing out to me at the moment is that one of the schools had a student, who had went to the same primary school as me up until Year 2, then he left to join that one, and that person would later go to the same Comprehensive School as me and now he's one of my best friends. Aww!

Other trips to the beach just involved sandy sandwiches, and playing games. Like rounders, which I got stupidly competitive over and I won the game.

And we went to the Cinemas once. I wish I could remember what we went to see. All I remember was the morning scrambling around the school trying to find my Mam and Aunty (who both worked at the school) for money so that I could buy something to eat during the film. I got £2 and bought a drink and a bar of Dairy Milk, which didn't last long.

We had a trip to a college once, ha. Me and my best friend had to make an animation. She took over a bit, and I was a petty child, so I was all pouty and silly about it. When she finally got the not so subtle hint that I wanted a go, she asked if I wanted to take over, and I said no just out of spite. I was so stubborn!

And at the end of Year 6, we went to Paris, which was my first time abroad! I absolutely loved it. The memories which stand out were the tiger at the animal refuge which walked around in circles all the time, which was sad. And the monkeys! And sharing a room with all my friends (I still remember things we talked about) and my best friend's Harry Potter robe, ha. And eating delicious cheese because I'd turned vegetarian and couldn't eat snails and all that. And Disneyland. And the market, with the man who sold wax! Londoners... fancy costume... um, trying to remember. Oh oh oh! I just remembered the talent show! My best friend, for some reason, decided to join the talent show by doing the Birdy dance! But one of the parts involved two people, so that they could link arms and skip in a circle. But he did it alone, so he just skipped around with an invisible person, until my Aunty ran up and joined him. Aww, I miss him. He was special.

Aww, this has brought back a lot, so thank you OP! A lot of this probably sounds a bit mundane, but I get so sentimental about this stuff! I'm going to be racking my brain trying to think about other trips, because there were more, I'm sure. Awwwww, thank you OP! Oh, you've made me go all soppy now.:P

      This is rather cute :)

There was one where we stood in a lake for Geography and surveyed stuff, and another one where about twenty kids tried to get into a German sex shop in Cologne by pretending to be adults when we were really 11 years old :S And another trip in Belgium and France where we looked around lots of cemeteries and memorials for soldiers who died in World War I. That was much more interesting than it sounds but sad because of how many gravestones were marked simply as "A Soldier of the Great War" rather than with a name, because they couldn't identify so many of the dead. That trip had a lot of good times though, and a lot of fun with great friends despite the morbidity of it :) That was my favourite one :)

Oh, and there was a trip to the Houses of Parliament one. That was my second favourite trip. There was lots of mucking about in London and shenanigans, including meeting someone from Made In Chelsea who I didn't recognise on account of not having ever watched it.

And the trip to Llandudno in Wales where I saw the beautiful 2005 Champions League final and mispronounced the name of the town for the whole time we were there ("Luh-luh-and-udd-no"). We all gave ourselves super-secret code-names based on sharks - I was "Hammerhead" (I don't know if that was saying anything about me :P). In fact, to hell with it - that was my favourite one :D

I did the same school trip abroad as you. We went to Flanders, Belgium and a bit of France to stare at loads of graves... The best bit was seeing the trenches though. I know we were meant to be solemn and appreciate the depth of loss the extensive graves represented, but for a class of 11 year olds from a shit comprehensive, the best bit was running around the field and causing trouble :P

I loved field trips too, especially the pumpkin patch or farm. I can remember most of my field trips so I'll tell you about them.

In elementary school we went to a theater to see a play which was either African or Native American folk tales, pretty interesting. I also remember seeing Peter Pan, but I can't remember when. In 4th grade we went to Washington-on-the-Brazos which is considered "the birthplace of Texas" since it's where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed.

The next year my grade went to this little fake city inside a warehouse, and everybody had a job as part of this project we were doing for JA. So they had like a newspaper company, sports store, bank, all this stuff to teach us about real life. I was pumped because I was made manager of the distribution center, so I got to make a speech in front of the whole grade with the other "owners".

And that was my last field trip ever because the school district didn't have enough money :(.

I remember that in 1st grade I went to a museum that was "Where the Wild Things Are" themed. I thought that was pretty cool, plus the teacher was awesome.

I don't really remember having any school trips. I faintly remember going with my (pre-k?) class with some of our parents to this farm. I remember this lady showing us how they made apple cider and for some reason I was sacred to drink one of their products. I remember their were farm animals and their was a cow and the works taught everyone how to milk a cow. The thing is is that by the time it took for me to get a turn the cow was out of milk. It broke my heart!!!! I probably even cried.
