Is it normal to have a pet peeve against poeple who use '....' all the time :

is it normal that i immediately label people as not confident or clueless when they use '.....' every single time?
i get it if its occasional, and sensible like " oh you don't like xyz? i like it tho ...."
but i hate it when every single one of their texts ends with '....'
like ' how are you ...'
'i am happy.... '
it irritates me sooo much
comments on this?

Just to play punctuation Nazi for a moment, "...." is wrong. An ellipsis is actually "...".

I have no idea why people you know do this in texts. I'm far too ancient to give a damn about the passing fads for mutilating English language and usage in various ways just to be different.

FWIW, the convention is that an ellipsis is used in printed dialogue to indicate that the speaker has let a sentence tail away unfinished. It typically indicates hesitancy on the part of the speaker due to uncertainty about how what they've said will be received or conflicted thoughts.

To me, closing a texted sentence with an ellipsis comes across the same as the rising inflection that many people use in speech, and that sounds to me like a signal that the speaker is hoping the listener will agree with whatever's been said.

watch a sports player athlete give a post game interview and count how many times he casually says 'you know'

once you notice it you cant unnotice it

its also a great barometer for whos smart & articulate and whos a dipshit on the team

I'm like that too, it seems needlessly cryptic. Makes me think that they're hiding something...

I had a friend who would do that. He was an older guy so I assumed it was one of those "old folks using the internet" things.
