Is it normal to have a phobia of cars?

A couple of years ago, I was in an almost fatal car crash, and while i wasn't the driver, I have a fear of driving cars now. Is it normal for me to be semi-ok with others driving me around but flip out when I have to drive even though I wasn't the one who caused the accident?

Four years ago, I wrecked my crown vic on the back of a large truck while I was doing 70 mph. Totalled the car. I was scared shitless to drive afterward but it was necessary as my job requires me to drive 15+ miles to get there. I got over it but it took months for me to get comfortable doing freeway speeds again so I'd say it's normal.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” - Herbert Frank

Yes it's normally considering that you've been in a fatal car crash. But maybe someday you will be able to get over that fear
