Is it normal to have a rabbit obsession?
I love rabbits! I use it as a nickname to regularly refer to my mom, and at times this practice had extended to other family members and even close friends. I've even gotten drunk and started calling strangers "rabbits."
This is how it started: when I was much younger, my hyperactive imagination led me to believe that my mom resembled one of these awesome creatures. I started calling her that nickname and would even fold my hands and attempt to buy her carrots and celery at times. I even started giving her birthday cards on Easter and vice versa. I do a bunch of other stuff, like hoard Cadbury Easter eggs and leave them all at once in one place for her. It's been nearly 15 years when I started this (at age 12 or so) and I still call her "Rabbit" by name - much more often than I call her "Mom." I also call her "furface," "peanut butter bunny," "butter woman," "fluffy," "cotton tail," "lagomorph," "buck tooth bongo," "Orbert," and "Spuchko." Another time I got fake bunny ears and put them on her head while she was sleeping. And yes, when she was watching "Fatal Attraction," I consoled her during the bunny boiling scene. Hell, it is so bad that she doesn't like eating salad in front of me.
It goes beyond calling people "rabbits." Sometimes I poke them and make baby noises like, "ooh doo" and "Woobie."
It's so annoying. But I can't help it! Is it normal to have such a dorky, weird obsession? They're adorable and cute. I love rabbits!!!!!! I think I might buy one.
