Is it normal to have floaters while you're young?

I'm on the computer a lot, but I've been noticing that I'd see small flashes, especially from the corners of my eye. They did worsen when I took a walk and was dehydrated, and I'm pretty bad at maintaining my nutrients and water and stuff. If dehydration has nothing to do with floaters, is this retinal detachment and should I freak out?

You need to see a eye doctor to rule out any serious eye disease I've had floaters before and my eye examine just 2 months ago showed very healthy eyes.

It's better to be safe and sometimes long times on the
computer will effect your eyes cause it happens to me
I do recommend taking breaks from the computers, cell
phones maybe watch something on TV or take a walk.

PS: I think you should do some googling too: eye floaters dehydration pulled up contradictory info about dehydration and one article mentioned eyestrain (as from being on the computer too long?), smoking and alcohol as possible factors.

I don't know how common floaters are for young people, but certainly I used to occasionally have one in my 20's. They went away by themselves and I didn't have them again until I developed cataracts and then a detached retina (not connected).

Freaking out won't do much good: how about having your eyes checked? I've never heard of dehydration causing floaters, but it can cause all sorts of other nasty conditions.
