Is it normal to have kp

I have Keratosis Pilaris, (chicken skin). It's a skin disorder where your hair follicles produce to much keratin, and this causes the hairs to be ingrown. As a result, the skin has small red bumps, almost like goosebumps. Most of the times it only appears on the upper arms, but it can be anywhere on the body. The bumps get worse in the winter, and they need to be constantly moisturized with lotion or oils to reduce their appearance. It is genetic and there is no complete cure for it. I read that it can go away with age, but I'm 48, and I still have this shit all over my body!

Maybe get some microdermabrasion crystals and add it to your body wash. Try moisturizing with coconut oil.

You can get laser treatment, topical retinoids, or topical exfoliants.
