Is it normal to have no talents?

I have no talents. The only things I do well are things absolutely anyone can do, and I'm average at best at a few things, then below average at most things. I seem to progress more slowly at new things than others and am told it's because I'm a "perfectionist", though I think I'm just untalented lol.

Is anyone else like this or is it just me?

Being skilled at something is 2% natural talent and 98% work.

There's no such thing. Everyone has talent in some area, although it may be hidden. It can be found by introspection and trial and error. Saying you don't is a sign of low self esteem.

You do have talents you are just looking at the wrong places. What people told you are considered 'talents'.
Talents don't necessarily have to be useful. Your talents can be being really good at figuring out the ending of movies, finding cool rocks, using chopsticks for any type of food, staring at a wall for four hours straight and forgetting you exist, talking to the moon or parallel parking. Literally anything. Fuck what society tells you are talents.

Okay, but can you make a good grilled cheese sandwich, and heat up some tomato soup?

Not a single baby is born with talents in anything (other than crying, peeing, and pooping).

As they grow up they learn talents... and get good at the ones the practice a lot ("natural talent" tends to equal "years of practice").

So find something you would like to be able to do... and start working at becoming proficient at it - and then good at it. Then you will have a talent.

That's how it always works. There will be people with talent or too many talents and there will be those who have none. It's more painful when people convince the untalented, sorry people and slow learners that they're special when it really doesn't. Embracing the truth hurts but at least I learned by myself that I am not special and have no talents so I am not living in a lie anymore.
