Is it normal to have very noticeable scarring/discoloration from ingrown pubic hair?

Since I was in junior high school I have always gotten ingrown hairs where my pubic hair grows. They were always painful and I would just leave them alone to heal on their own.

They left scars and sometimes dark purple marks. I'm really insecure about this and worry I'll never be confident enough to have sex with someone.

Does anyone else deal with this? Is this normal or not?

Please don't be unkind in the comments this already plagues my thoughts. I would love opinions and personal experiences though.

If anyone is near your pubic hair, they aren't going to care.

I would agree, ask your doctor what they think and try not to obsess over it.

Lost confidence will affect your love life significantly more than scaring will.

Years ago I was in vacation and a buddy and I flew to Florida and were going to Key West. But we did have a stop to make since a guy we worked with told us where his sister worked and to stop and see her. She was a stripper, and she dealt with the same issue from shaving. As I remember she told us she would awhile after shaving use a clot tag and I'm thinking it was rubbing alcohol. It helps to dry the skin a bit and inhibit pubic hair growth, I guess from drying out the skin.
