Is it normal to hesitate saying "version" bc it may sound like "virgin"?

I honestly hesitate EVERY time I go to say the word "version" because I'm afraid I'll say "virgin" instead. I'm not afraid of saying "virgin" in context at all, I'm just afraid of what people might think of what could be on my mind if I did accidentally say that instead. Does anyone else fear that mistake?

I hesitate saying "howdy sailor" because it may sound like "i wanna have sex with another male"

Not really. Not unless I was around a bunch of immature teens who giggle every time they hear a word that sounds naughty.

like Beavis & Butthead: "Heh heh heh, you said 'Job'"

The two words do sound somewhat alike, but as long as you say it clearly you're okay. It's simply pronounced "vershun" (with a softer "sh"), not virGin ;)

I made that mistake once, it was pretty funny and we just laughed it off. But, no, I don't ever stress it.

    I get this too.

    Text sounds like sext, etc.

There are a lot of things I hesitate on.... Sometimes, in my panic I'll stutter on a word and it will come out in a way I did not expect:/

When that happens, I quickly try to correct myself and hope that whoever I was talking to didn't notice.

There is a radio program in Australia on Triple J called "like a version" for that exact reason haha.
The best song was Eskimo Joes cover of Gotye's Somebody that I used to know
