Is it normal to ignore heart problems?

So something weird happened with my heart where it felt like blood was rushing through it. I almost blacked out but didn't feel any pain or tightening in my chest. Happens every once in a while so I ignore it.

One way or another, it's a self-limiting condition if you ignore it: it'll either stop happening on its own, or you'll die.

Ignoring symptoms which obviously relate to heart function isn't wise.

Sounds like a mitral valve prolapse. Usually fairly harmless if medicated ocassionally. The anxiety can make you feel like you will black out or faint which CAN occur. See a doctor.

Almost blacked out? No, it's not normal to ignore that.

You should probably get it checked

Go see a doctor and get your blood pressure checked. They don't call high blood pressure the silent killer for nothing.

It's normal if you have a death wish. If not, then see a doctor.

I ignored chest pain for nearly a year, telling myself it couldn't be a heart problem because it never happened during or after exertion, only when it awoke me from sleep or turned up when I was relaxed in an armchair. I didn't know then that many heart attacks aren't like the ones depicted in movies, ie middle aged men clutching their chests and collapsing.

Women often have different symptoms to men and I was in fact experiencing angina, which culminated in a heart attack which was described as "mild", but if that's a mild one I definitely don't want a severe one.

Never ignore anything to do with your heart: many conditions may be minor or caused by something else: for example severe indigestion can be confused with angina. It's not like pain or discomfort anywhere else in your body: ignore it and it could kill you.

could be an atrial fibrillation or somthing so minor as salt depleted. look if you feel dizzy dissolve a half spoon of salt in a glass of water , if you feel great afterwards i saved you thousands of dollars. On the other hand it could be something else and you are now dead. it happened to me, no im not dead, Asshole doctor got mad i put salt on my eggs so i looked up how much salt i was eating and it was 200 mg daily. most eat 2,500 daily , this fuck head almost killed me. Now i salt the living shit out of everything i can , even water. havent fainted in years. he never even asked what i eat. i eat only fresh cooked meat , fresh raw fruit and vegetables. I out lived my last doctor im on number two now.

Hey Nick. Buy a blood pressure cuff, and check it every few days. 120/80 is the goal.

That much salt is going to indirectly affect your heart eventually via raising your blood pressure. Low salt won't kill you, high salt very well might

on any day go to the emergency room and watch them hang salt water on everyone and never remove any salt . have a nice life not seeing what is real.

Saline drips as an emergency measure are not the same as oversalting your food! And they don't "hang them on everyone" only those who medically need them: for example they weren't administered when I had a heart attack or was hospitalised for pneumonia due to a lung condition and they're not given to people with broken bones and lots of other conditions.
