Is it normal to introduce my girlfriend to metal?

Lately I introduced her to metal, even though her tastes is very different to mine ( she likes Avril Lavigne and that Kpop band that girls don't ever shut up about: Blackpink or whatever its called ), despite her tastes being different to mine I completely respect her. So my brilliant self thought it be a good idea to introduce her to a metal band like Slipknot and when I did she seemed to like Psychosocial and Snuff.

Is this normal?

    Slipknot at the start? I wouldn't push that much. Especially on someone who doesn't listen to metal.

    Start with hard rock and build up.

    My girlfriend loves generic pop and considered anything above a rock ballad just noise. I picked out a few good rock songs, she liked them, we are at the point where she even likes some hard rock stuff.

    Tho I don't think she'll ever like metal.

      I agree also Lavigne's songs are good some are quite catchy to be honest. I only know of Lavigne because of my 17 year old cousin would never stop talking about her and her music videos being aired on music channels at one point ( I guess she was quite big back then. ). I also guess its good that my partner likes it too.

        I remember her becoming popular, and the music videos! I believe I had her first album on CD as a kid, and remember "Complicated", "Sk8r Boi", "I'm With You", and "Mobile" on my local radio a lot. Even though I was pretty young, it still feels weird that it was nearly 20 years ago now!
