No. You've probably missed out on so many good stories by doing this. There's only been one manga that I didn't like and eventually, I stopped reading it all together. The anime version was so much better!
My own personal version of ADD. Let's me get interested enough that when I drop it I will be completely put off by the idea of REreading so many chapters. Sucks. I'm probably missing out on a crap-load of good mangas and books by trusting summaries, too.
It can get boring if a story doesn't relate to you or isn't changing action fast enough. So yeah its normal. Perhaps you still haven't found out what genre of books, I mean manga, you are really into.
Yeah, but that's not what I mean. I mean the boring page in the middle of an exciting chapter or just losing interest so completely that I dread continuing to read it even though I couldn't wait to continue before.
The action...maybe. I get bored in the middle of action sequences, too. Short or long.
I read a lot of different mangas..... I was going to list off genres that I read, but realized it'd be quicker to list off genres I DON'T read. I avoid horror, historical, yaoi and yuri usually. Genres in manga are so...tangled together that you can't you end up reading all of them.
I don't think about genre unless I can't decide on what to read next. Most recently, I decided to read Initial D (street racing) because it's long and completed, got in 60-something chapters into a relatively exciting bit and switched manga.
I decided to read something else that's marked as completed and landed on Gauken Alice (super powered 10-yos) got in 60-something chapters well into a darker part of the manga, and switched.
I gave up on reading something that's completed and went for a genre switch to Whistle (soccer) got in 10 chapters and switched.
Now I'm reading Charming Junkie (modelling) and I'm thinking of switching. I actually dread going back to those, even though I was enjoying them.
Don't worry about it too much. I used to do a similar thing with shounen manga but then I had to get to work so I realised I was doing that because I read too much manga. Later when I had free time and returned to reading manga my interest was renewed. I don't read anymore though. Maybe you just need a break from it, try watching anime or reading books, or get a hobby. instead.
I don't read mangas but I do the same thing with books. Seems totally normal to me.
