Is it normal to keep roaches as pets?

Originally, I was disgusted with them because they kept showing up in my shower and in my bed. After reading about them, though, I have come to think of them as fascinating animals, and they are very easy to feed. I don't think I have the heart these days to squish them or call an exterminator - I just have to keep my books and art supplies away from them.

    Get a hissing roach. Cleaner and nicer than wild roaches. They live for about 2 years. They're very fun.

          I don't know, Im sure vermin are dirty too but I HATE bugs so much. I think Id rather have cute little mice(NOT rats) than bugs anyday.
          But then, I hate the plague...

              Not really, but I didn't appreciate their diseased poop showing up in odd places, so I got rid of them.

    No but seriously you need to grt rid of them...depending on how close to your neighbors you are...you could end up infecting their house as well.
    they can spread bacteria and you can get very sick.

    It's only normal to have a roach for a pet if it's one of those hissing cockroaches from the exotic pet store. Personally I would prefer an emperor scorpion or a tarantula as a pet if I had to get a creepy crawler.

    Hah, thats... cute...
    I always kept them when they got in my house on Animal crossing... I would feel bad if I accidentally stepped on one - their little souls would float out :((
