Is it normal to let grandkids& their friends play ipads while i drive carpool

My daughter is having surgery , so her four kids are staying with me for a while. One of the mothers has a huge problem with many things. The chief issue is my letting the kids play with their ipads while I carpool them around.It keeps them quiet while I drive.

She wants me to take them off of the kids in my van and them to sit there and not move or talk to each other.I use to be a bus driver , I know that many kids in a van would be bad news.

She made a big stink at one of the kids events.She even went as far as to insinuate that I am too old and too out of touch to be taken care of the kids.Her son is embarrassed at how she acts.How do I handle this gracefully?My daughter is friends with this creature, I mean woman.I don't want her calling cps on me.

    I would politely ask this parent to remove her child from the car pool until your daughter returns, as she has no right to dictate how any child other than her own is treated in YOUR van.

    Just how is it this woman's business? She's an interfering fuckwit, just ignore her and why would she call cps on you?

    Settle down there, keep doing what you do for your daughter and grandkids and take no notice of her: if you must engage with her just smile sweetly, say nothing and move away from her.

        And your daughter is a friend of this weirdo? If she's a serial pest with cps they'll probably ignore her and you are doing nothing harmful to the kids, so what is the issue?

        She's a shit stirrer and you've fallen for her games: set an example to your grandkids about how to deal with difficult people and just detach, detach, detach

    That woman is an obvious lunatic, and believe me, I know crazy. Many people let their kids play with an IPad, heck, my boss's son got an iPad for Christmas! Personally, I wouldn't get them an Ipad, but maybe a cheaper Android tablet or that Navi BigTab I've seen made for kids, much cheaper and looks more durable, so when they inevitably toss it across the room, its less likely to shatter into a million pieces (and won't cost you $500USD when it does break!)

    i IPads and just about any tablet, especially that Navi one built for kids, has parental controls you can use, not to mention all the apps and browser settings (and settings in Google!) That help keep explicit content from reaching their eyes. And if that's not enough, there is KidRex, the Google made search engine made just for kids!

    Too many people complain about some of the stuff on the web, all the while ignoring all the wonderful tools designed to keep them from having to see it!

    Nothing is wrong with kids playing their ipads (unless they're watching youtube cancer, reading stuff since they're bad for the eyes when traveling in a vehicle, or anything that can hurt them/change their attitude in a bad way. ) just let the kids be kids and make the jealous nanny to shut up, making kids play ipads isn't child abuse.
