Is it normal to lie about your age when you are still in your twenties ?

As soon as i turned 23 , i started lying about my age , i remember one time i went to the doctor's office and i was 26 told him i was 24 or 25 , and when people used to ask me how old i am when i was 26 or 27 i'd say i'm 25 , now i am almost 30 and i think it is the time to lie about your age NOT when you are in your twenties ! . Is it normal to lie about your age when you are in your twenties ?

I look a lot younger than I am but I don't take that opportunity to say I am younger. I love the fact that people always comment on how young I look for my age and how well I've looked after my self and that wouldn't happen if I tell people I'm 21. If I tell people I'm 21 they're gonna think that I look rough for my age. Sometimes I'm even tempted to ad a a few years so people are even more impressed at how well I've looked after my self.

I think it depends on the situation. If you feel like you look much older than you are and feel ashamed of this it would seem logical to me. Other situations that come to mind when IMO it would be at least explainable that you feel the need to lie about this, is that if you are trying to hook-up with a girl who is into older guys, or who is older than you are.

Other than that, it doesn't seem really useful to me.

    • Well on the contrary , infact i look much younger then my age (my face at least ) , and i people always tell me that i look so young even when i used to lie about my age , they'd say that i look younger then the age i mention .

I can understand it if you think you look much younger, but don't lie. You'll get caught and you'll loose credibility. No one will take you seriously.

I guess it's normal because a lot of people are self conscious about their age and fear of getting old, but there's no point of lying about it. It doesn't change anything and you're still the same age and you still look the same. I guess it's worrying about other people's opinions but not too many people judge you by your age, and they certainly won't if it's only just a few years difference. 30 isn't that old and this is a 21 year old telling you this. I don't think people care how old you are anyway as long as you tell them the truth.

  • To lie by only a few years difference each time seems quite pointless.

Why though? I never lied about my age. I'm not happy with how old i am but that's too damn bad. I'm still awesome!
