Is it normal to lie to your dog about where you go when you leave?

So whenever I leave, I sometimes lie to my dog about where I'm going. For example: sometimes I say I'm going to a movie, even though may be I'm going to a bar or something. I don't want him to judge me for drinking, so I just lie about it. Other times it might be for a hook up, but I'll say I'm going to the store. Just to be safe I'll pick up an item on the way back to avoid suspicion. Luckily dogs don't have a sense of time so he'll be none the wiser. I can't possibly be the only one who does this, but 1 of my friends thinks i'm absolutely insane. Are they right, or do other people do this too?

Lying to your dog about where you go is stupid.

If you go to a bar, as soon as you walk in the door he'll smell the unmistakable mélange of cheap whiskey, rancid bar nuts and wasted lives radiating off you. If you go out for a hook-up, you know perfectly well what he's going to smell as soon as you walk in: the stench of counterfeit Chinese perfume, latex and the overpowering reek of the meth you had to smoke in order to convince yourself that your "date" was hot.

Very true. Plus they do have sense of time. Most creatures do including rats and goldfish.

My favorite thing about this site is reading shit like this out loud to my friends. Letting them know that y’all don’t just play in your own poo to bust a nut.

Yeah the playing in poop just to be able to jizz is always an aside. (sarcasm)

I do the same thing in the break room at work. My coworkers get a kick out of this place. Yet none of them want to make an account here. XD

I’ve spoken to your dog. He said he knows you lie to him and he is quite offended by all of it. He told me it really upsets him when he knows you lied and it makes him cry when you are not there because he knows you’re not where you said you would be.

Thats a shame, what happens when theres an emergency and your dog needs to find you to give you bad news. Not like your dog can just pick up a cell phone and call you to tell you to get you lying worthless ass home.

Personally, I don't think that's a good idea. Even if you don't think your dog is gonna get it. He'll be sad that you don't trust him. Maybe it's different for me because my thoughts are always around. I can't lie to them. They would hate me and pick on me, say mean things or just shut me up. Don't lie to your dog. Tell him the truth. Your post tells me you're unsure whether it's good or not. Even if he's disappointed, he'll probably forgive you if you're honest with him.

Your dog doesn't care where you go as long as you come back.

I would never lie to my cat, because I know he would catch me, and God is always on his side.
