Is it normal to like camping?

So, I'm planning a camping trip and was wondering how many folks out there like to camp. And, if so, what kind of camping. Comment with any fun stories.

I prefer:

Backpacking into backcountry or secluded beach 5
Tent camping in a campground 5
RV or trailer camping 2
Rent a cabin or room in a secluded campground 2
I hate any kind of camping 2
My fav is not listed, I'll comment 1
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I prefer to take vacations that don't involve pretending to be homeless.

Camping is awesome. Usually I get a group together between 8-10 people and will go camping for a long weekend. Will all usually bring a lot of good food, drinks and just enjoy being outdoors. That is unless it rains. Camping in the rain sucks.

I've only been sorta camping twice and it was ages ago and just for one or two nights. My boyfriend decided to drive up to a state forest one night, so we did. It was fun cooking breakfast on the fire and defiling the area by a small waterfall. Oh and high point too. Wooo!

There was a really cool store in the area with bonsai trees and carved stumps and things. We got stranded for a while when the transmission on the bug went, but I did score a deer antler that had broken off when the poor beast was hit by a car. We were walking down the road to get to a payphone, and after making the call, we had enough left over to split a small coffee and a couple munchkins. Aw. So anyway, it's fun I guess.

I used to camp a lot but my current wife does not. Her idea of camping is a motel room with the window open. :)

I love going camping either to mountainous or coastal areas.

One of my favourite times was going camping in an isolated mountainous area with a girl I'd been in the FZ with for ages. Camping out with her and having a few wines and beers around the campfire smashed that friend zone to pieces. ;-) (at least while we were camping!).

    Good times.

  • It's a mix between tent camping or a secluded cabin.

    I don't like camping. I am a city person.

Camping is fun. All campgrounds near me fill up fast in the summer. It's the most bormal thing to do in the summer around here.

I haven't went camping since I was a kid, but I love it. I would be happy sleeping in a tent, bar b q'ing oysters, swimming, exploring some trails and dropping a little acid.

Heading up onto Brokeback Mountain, are you? Far from the peeping eyes of your friends and their judgmental attitudes? Have fun.

Says the dude who lives out on a fuckin boat. Lmao. Bareback beach or harbor ho?

Back on topic.. If I'm going to camp there's plenty of woods around, I don't need no camp grounds, that shit's for pussies. All the wild life is scared away.

My backyard is a couple miles worth of woods, some of the neighbors hunt turkeys back there. I just hike back there with my SKS just to fish for fuck with the pedophile bum living back there in the old abandoned homes.

As for camping.. don't do it often but if I had a date who was into it, I'm all for it.

A 50 foot yacht is hardly camping out. I've all the mod cons you have in your house, plus some.
