Is it normal to live a boring, clockwork life?

Every morning, I wake up at 6 a.m. and shower and change into the same grey or blue button up shirt and black pants. My wife makes breakfast in the kitchen and our two kids eat and leave for school. I step into the same grey car, drive to the same office buildings, type my way to my next month's mortgage payment, go home and go to bed. I stopped seeking sex from my wife after she told me her menopause killed her sex drive. She was 35.

I scroll or swype or flick or whatever through social media pages and see images of friends I once had sailing the world, climbing foreign mountains and drinking wine in countries that I never heard of. Yet I sit here here, paying a mortgage and for college for two kids who I barely talk to and a wife who thinks I don't notice her elongated sexting sessions with her boss. Pun intended.

is it normal to live this way? Also, does LSD do permanent brain damage or it just messes with you then and there?

You are stuck in a rut. It happens. While most do not use LSD to pull ourselves out, you could try something less crazy. Like buying a green shirt.

Once the kids are gone, then you still have 20 plus years to do as you please. Let the wife and her boss go do their thing together, giving you back your freedom.
I'd steer clear of acid in your present mental state, given that you could even find the real thing. It is not a commercially viable drug for the difficulty of manufacturing, so unless you actually know the chemist who is making it, you will most likely get a horse tranquilizer mixed with something like strychnine, not LSD 25.

    • I do, he's a pretty legit guy who works for a pharmaceutical company and does this on the side. He's the brother of a co-worker of mine. I thought he was kidding when he suggested that I drop acid to add some excitement to my life but I'm happy that he wasn't.

Well, as far as the daily routine goes, I get the feeling that your going through a minor breakdown and could use some summer vacations with your family.

Menopause can be sexually off putting for most women due to the less increased blood flow in the sexual area and dryness, causing pain and discomfort. Try over the counter water based lubricants and ask your doctor for a vaginal cream to fight the dryness. You get the drift.

About LSD, that's a convoluted matter. Your better off learning why and how before taking anybody word for it. Briefly, it's a secure drug in adequate proportions and purity.

    • Thanks for the advice. You might be right, but I have had these feelings for years so I wouldn't call it a breakdown. I have, however, been using LSD every other weekend at least (as often as I can without causing any harm to my family) and I have found it to be one of the few outlets I have that truly makes me happy...

I urge you to cease the LSD consumption immediately and look for more viable alternatives, your gambling your life and your family well being.

This reminds me so much of the film 'American Beauty', and it sounds like you are the character called Lester Burnham. Have you seen it?

(Lester Burnham: "This hasn't been a marriage for years, but you were happy as long as I kept my mouth shut. Well guess what, I've changed! And the new me whacks off when he feels horny, because you're obviously not gonna help me out in that department!")

Don't worry - I've been in much the same place as you too, I split up with a long term partner (which for the last year of it was a sexless, loveless relationship) and instead went and had an amazing fling with an amazing 23 year old.

Instead of indulging in LSD which might do you some damage, maybe it's time to change the direction of your life one way or the other. Find something to be interested in.

If your wife is having phone sex or is sexting with her boss then the menopause did not kill her sex drive after all. I say you give it to her in the poop chute sans lube. Get her dry like they do in he penitentiary.

              You sounded almost evil.
Reminds me of a prison scene in American History X.
