Is it normal to make dating profiles and fb pages as an attractive female?

So I'm bored and lonely and after school I just go home and watch anime (or go on here :P) but a couple of months ago I got the idea to Google pictures of attractive women, find enough that looked like the same woman and I made a FB page for this fictional woman.

On my FB page, I am a cute, redheaded, single 25 year old accountant for a small but respected hardware supplier. I have a CPA and a nice car, my own little one bedroom apartment and a dog. I spent so much time on my career that I'm just now starting to date. It went over so well, I got a lot of attention from singles in the area I claimed to be and I had such a blast that I made and work multiple dating profiles in her name.

It almost feels like a fantastic second, secret life. When I go to school, I'm just some skinny, quiet little dorky guy. When I go home, I am Hannah, a social, fun loving and feisty redhead who is adored by almost everyone she encounters. I almost feel like she's a real person, a part of me that only expresses itself on FB or match.com or eharmony...

So is it normal, or rather, does anyone else to anything similar?

    I can understand wanting to be someone else but it's not fair tricking other people when they actually believe you are who you appear to be when you're not.

    I mean, just look at Catfish and how people get hurt being duped by fake profiles. It's better to be yourself and be honest.

      People say that, but really, when I was being myself and being honest, nobody thought I was interesting. Who am I? Some pale virgin living in trailer park-ville sitting on a computer watching anime all day. I'm bad with girls and with people in general and most people think I'm a fucking freak.

      Myself just sucks. I know I'm the one to blame but it all goes to the wind when I am Hannah.

        I agree with you. What is being oneself anyway?? Part of way is indeed Hannah. I don't see any harm in it.

        No! This is not normal at all. I don't think you understand how wrong this is. Changing your gender is one thing but you are doing it to pick up on dudes. For the sole purpose of picking up on guys.

        How do you think these gentlemen would react if they found out you were not female and manipulating them? It sounds like you just think its funny to fuck with people.

        If your gay why not get a boyfriend? I am sure there is lots of other gays online looking for someone to talk to? Why don't you try talking to them and not make up this stupid lady persona?

    There is forms for what you are doing, it's called roleplay and I have done it for years and years, but with other roleplayers that know that I'm playing a role and no one gets hurt from it.

    Honestly, I don't blame you for doing what you're doing. It feels good to actually have people notice you and hell even want to sleep with you. Even though this person is fake, you're the one behind the screen, and I bet the attention feels nice. However, I think you know what you're doing is a little wrong. If you won't take the account down, then maybe you could just stop interacting with people on the account. This way you won't be leading anyone on, but taking the whole account down would be best solution like everyone here is saying.

    I know that you may think that perhaps you're a nobody but you're not. There are people in real life who care about you, focus on that love and maybe it will help make you feel less alone. Peace.

    You ever seen the show/movie catfish? Yea. Thats what your starting. Acting by yourself is one thing. Fooling other people and leading them on for personal entertainment is another. Try making a profile with yourself on it.

    Why don't you try instead, faking a profile with a man's name? Would bring more benefits, since you'd practice chatting with ladies and discover their weaknesses and whatt they want. Just saying

    I do not think it is normal. I can see why you do it, but don't think it is nice of you to be tricking others. Anime7 basically wrote down my thoughts in a nutshell.

    Many people seek a form of escapism, whether it's watching a film or reading a book and being taken away from your normal life for a while. Others drink or take drugs or play computer games. You have created an alternate persona and that has become your escapism.

    The difference in yours is that it involves other people and their feelings. Because of that, you need to be careful not to cause harm. If you never do, I think it's okay to indulge this creative instinct.
