Is it normal to make everything about race?
For example, say a white person says " Otis Redding was one of the best singers of all time", but then someone comes along (of any race) and says "White people always choose him as their favorite black singer when there's so many other black singers"
But that person genuinely likes the music, it has nothing to do with the color of someone's skin. Are white people now limited to which Black artists they can like? What am I missing? Why would race even need to be brought up in that situation?
