Is it normal to make your own cast?

Alright, I have a huge fear of hospitals and I recently broke my wrist. Now instead of going to the hospital like any normal person would do, I decided to make my own plaster cast. I re-set my wrist, got some gauze and plaster, and made my own cast. Is this a normal reaction or am I nuts?

Some guy making his own cast was featured on that show 1000 ways to die...and well died from it.
I would go to the hospital if I were you.

With 13 bones in your wrist, without an x-ray, there is a very good possibility you didn't do the job properly.
Oh well, you didn't need any flexibility in your wrist anyway, did you?
Personally I believe my fear of the lifelong pain and limitations of an improperly set broken wrist would well outweigh my fear of hospitals, but I guess I'm just a wimp, right?
