Is it normal to not care about working in high end jobs?
I want a life where I want to work and it'll sustain me. I want no family, which will ultimately be in my favor. If I'm in a roommate environment, that is okay too, however I am slowly teetering towards the idea of living alone and I know I'll be juggling a heap of responsibilities once that day comes.
I see so many people saying that if they work at an X job, depending on what it is, then they're just wasting their time and life. That they need to aim high, get a career, be a contributor to society and the world at large. Society loves to kick at people who work at minimum wage jobs all the time, so much, you see this sort of thing happen in movies and shows where such positions are mocked for audiences to laugh at.
I find it very disrespectful to the idea of such. I've been told a few times that a 'job is a job' and I can get behind that. I want to work, still play games and generally live my life. It's all I can ever ask for. Why stress myself out for longer hours? Why should I try so hard to be a company loyalist who'll stay OT regardless? What's wrong with just going to work, doing the best you can and ending the day at the time you're to be done?
Is it normal to just not care for all of that?
