Is it normal to not change direction when you have walked the wrong way?

If I am walking somewhere and I realise I have gone the wrong way or forgot i was supposed to go to a certain place I feel embarrassed to completely change my direction and go the other way. I will either just continue on and not go to the place i meant to, or I will go on a big walk and do a loop to get back to where I wanna go. Normal?

That's the best way to walk. I love wandering.

I usually look at my phone and pretend I got a text and "reply" rapidly as I turn around.

Yes. I'll feel like a complete dumbass especially if someone was walking behind me the whole time.
