Is it normal to pee on yourself to stay warm?

So all these power outages in Texas during the blizzard got me thinking… I remember this one time I was absolutely freezing so I decided to pee on myself to warm myself up. It solved my problem, albiet only for a few seconds and then the issue got far worse. Anybody else ever try this? Did work?

It works for maybe 3 seconds if ur in the water. But if you are clothed and exposed to the elements it will make you colder when your pee freezes.

I remember back in school we had to wear these hired wetsuits for canoeing and there were always rumours that the weird kids were naked underneath them.

  • The key to staying warm in the cold is moving your body, i.e. creating frictional heat

Another trick if you're trying to sleep in the cold is utilizing plastic garbage bags, plastic retains the heat well

No...Rose could've saved Jack in Titanic if she had peed on him. I mean, she was already hogging that whole plank of wood like a bitch, the least she could've done is given him a little warm squirt.

I axtally watched a video on this. Appearantly if they used a life jacket on the bottom of the door itself it would of been able to hold both of them. Im sure hypothermia would of got him anyways what with being soaked in the middle of the night in the ocean wich I dont know how cold the air is their but he had a chance. Anyways yea apparently he could of lived but alas women and children only you heard the staff same as i

Mythbusters. Buoyancy was the issue not room. I'm joking because everyone crows about the titanic wood plank like crazy.

But Rose is a bitch. If she had gotten on the lifeboat in the first place he would've lived. Also, in the movie when she dies as an old lady she reunites with Jack...after being married and having children.

She dumps her lifelong husband and children in the afterlife to hang out with a guy she dated for 3 days!!! What a cunt!!!

Long live falling propeller guy, the REAL star of that movie

scuba divers do that at times in their wet suits to warm up. But then the suit has some insulating qualities as well.

Anyone who has ever taken a hot bath in chilly or cold weather knows that you feel the coldness intensely after the bath.

Everyone has done things that seemed like a good idea at the time but turned out not to be. Live and learn.

I can't imagine that it would make any significant difference, but I suppose if one was in a situation where preserving every last bit of body heat was vital, pissing in a plastic bag, tying it up securely and putting the bag on your abdomen under your clothing could help a tiny bit.

Never tried that and it always seemed obvious it won't help. I did try peeing on nettle burn though, because I was told it would help. And as a child I peed myself unintentionally, but I think that was like kindergarten

When I'm cold, I start walking in circles if I can.
And that is disgusting what you do.
