Is it normal to play zelda to pretend link is my son?

Im not really a gamer but toon Link is so cute. When I play the game I pretend I am watching over my son as he go on adventures. whenever he gets hurt I feel really bad and go dig up some hearts to pretend they are like cookies I made for him.
I have hundreds of hours on that game and only ever died about twice. Luckily when toon Link dies it looks like he is just taking a rest.
Does anyone else do this with games?

It's normal. I mean games are for playing and pretending right? You're just adding on to it.

You might be a little too attached to the game. It's not a big deal though.

You need to let him fix things for himself. It isn't gonna be that you smother him his whole life and at 18 he suddenly can do it all on his own. Don't squander his chances at success because of your "love". Don't just act on maternal instinct think logically about what he needs to learn how to do and see himself as so he can thrive without your coddling. This is the true meaning of parenting
