Is it normal to prefer travelling alone?

So my friends went to a trip last week and they asked me to join but I say no 'cause I knew they were going to spend too much money(and they did). Next week I'm going on a 3-day trip on my own and when I told them they started making fun of me, mostly because I plan to go out drinking and partying even though I'm travelling alone. Fact is, in Europe we have these marvellous youth hostels where it's nearly impossible not to find other people to hang out with. But when I told my friends that I am gonna share a room with 6 strangers they looked at me like I was insane.

yeah I prefer it too. You're more inclined to get out of your comfort zone and actually meet people. Plus you're not responsible for other people so you can tailor make the experiences you get yourself into without worrying about the enjoyment of a significant other.

  • yeah that's just normal. and i get the same "are you insane" look from people everytime i decide going places alone. i don't like the hassle of having to think about other people during a trip, but i must say it kinda helps to have someone else around that you know just in case bad things happen unexpectedly (losing your wallet, etc.). but putting set backs aside, i still prefer travelling alone. less hassle. period.
