Is it normal to put blogs on a resume?

I've never really heard of anyone doing that before. I'm a couple of months into searching for a job and a friend suggested that I remove one of my irrelevant "experience" entries and replace it with information about a blog I used to write. It was a blog where I reviewed different games, but I haven't written on it since 2016.

The job I'm searching for is in software, so I'm not sure it's the greatest idea, but I don't think there's any harm in trying it out since I'm getting so few bites anyway. Do people really put blogs on their resumes, though?

    If your blog contains examples of the type of work that you'll be doing at the job you're applying for, then it's relevant experience. If it doesn't pair naturally with your resume then it's probably better to leave it off, especially now that it's 7 years old

    If the job is related to what you blogged about I can see it being helpful, at the same time I'm not sure employers would have the time to read the blog, but it could show some kind of consistency/dedication and that's never bad.

    Idk but a big part of getting the job is selling yourself. So put in that thing how you never miss work and how you have good work ethic. That goes along way with employers because alot of ppl are just lazy.

    People put blogs on their resumes, particularly if they are well-written or related to the subject on which they wish to work.
