I don't really think it's normal, but for now it seems harmless. I don't think it makes you a bad person or anything. Have you experienced any pain or trauma in your life that makes lies more comfortable than the truth? I wish you the best.

How else can you improve your vital lying skills?

As long as you don't get in trouble i don't see the harm in it.

I occasionally lie about trivial things, usually for social relevance. For example, if I ate a sadwich a couple days ago and my friends were all conversating about the sandwiches they ate today, I might theoretcally substitute todays soup for a sandwich so I can contribute to the coversation without having to explain that I had the same feeling about sandwiches, but on a different day. Or perhaps your friends are saying you are too skinny and you know that by admitting you only ate soup will cause unwanted attention... In that case, I could also unerstand lying.

However, if you don't know why you said sandwich instead of soup, I must say, you have a problem.

It's not normal and to me not acceptable. I have a friend who does this all the time and other than the lies, he's a cool guy. We've known each other since preschool and I bet we'd be super close friends if it wasnt for this habit. It's like every time you talk to him, you're talking to a new person. It's fucking terrible and annoying and not even worth it.

Cut it out before it costs you a lot of friends and trust.

It's not really a big problem unless it affects other people. Your eating habits are not very important, so I don't see why this would be bad.

It's a little weird/strange to me that you would do this, but many people have their own weird habits. I would try to be more truthful if I were you, because this could cause you to feel some sort of girl or even lead to more compulsive lying.

Does having a sandwich make you feel fat or something?

I bet you're a woman. Not putting down women but something as trivial as that is what we men complain about women doing ALL the time.

Anyway, this is usually associated with the way you were raised. One example being: Your parent(s) were REALLY harsh on you misbehaving. Sometimes it's them being overly harsh when it was time for discipline but also believed ANY lie you told them so that you wouldn't get in trouble.

Google why people are compulsive liars, look at the professional sites, you'll see what I'm saying. It's something that you CAN stop. Remember you'll be accepted and rejected, it's inevitable so lying is unnecessary
