Is it normal to sit and climb all over parked cars for city people?

As a kid growing up in the city, we used to play on and around parked cars all the time. We treated cars as just another part of the enviroment. We obviously didn't understand or care about the damage we could have been doing to these cars.

Couple examples are running across a line of cars parked on the street. We'd climb up a car to help us hop a fence into the community pool at night. We would even jump down onto them from windows, denting in the hoods or roofs, and just assuming they could be popped out next day. Later we got into bmx bikes, and would ride them over cars when we could. One time I was jumping up onto the hood of a car, and didn't make it, imbedding my flywheel spokes into the edge of the car.

I honestly say this wasn't done out of malace or evil intent. We just had no regard for them. When we got to be older teens, we cut it out as we then knew better, but I remember young kids doing it as much as we did.

Anyone else associate with this?
