Is it normal to sleep till 11 or take a nap every day?

I never napped in my life until I had mono two years ago. Ever since I have not been able to go a whole day without extra sleep. I feel lousy and dysfunctional unless I sleep till around 11. if I get up early, 7-8am, I end up taking a two hour nap. (I work in the evenings.) Even with all this sleeping I dont have the energy I used to.
Is excessive sleep a long standing side effect of mono? Will I ever go back to normal.

Try taking power naps. It's a very common practice in Europe.

Depends on your age. Research shows that teenagers need far more sleep than adults do because they are still growing.

On the other hand, consider getting your thyroid and iron levels checked by a doctor. Fatigue is a symptom of thyroid issues and iron deficiency among other health concerns.

  • I need extra sleep too. If it were related to mono you should ask a doctor. There are 1000's of causes for this symptom.
