Is it normal to sometimes use my ear wax or hair/nose grease as lip balm

Sometimes, when my lips are dry and I don't have lip balm around me, I just take some oil from my scalp or perhaps the sides of my nose and put it on my lips. If I have just showered and I have cleaned my ears, I also sometimes do the same with the cleaned ear wax (never dirty). Is this a normal thing?

  • I think this is a great way to save money. You can brush your teeth with mucus.

That's disgusting. Isn't lip balm enough?

Actually you can achieve the same effect by squeezing blackheads and pimples and putting the pus on your lips.

Surely there's no difference in the grossness factor between using ear wax or hair / nose grease for lip balm, compared to pimple or blackhead excretions.

Great fix for when you're out of lip balm and going to kiss somebody.

    • I clean my ears when I shower. However, earwax is not the dirty stuff itself, but the stuff that the ear secretes.

I clean my ears too, but I don't want and clean my earwax so that it is sterile for other uses, I remove it, and discard it, I don't clean it.
