Is it normal to start a cat club for cats and their people?

I'm thinking of starting a club for cats and people who really like cats. We will meet every week or fortnight and do cat-related activities like discussing cat news, watching cat videos, telling cat jokes etc.

One of the first events will be a Cat-reoke night, were we will sing karaoke songs but change the lyrics to all be about cats. Also we could have a black tie gala dinner to raise money for the cat sanctuary. And at the end of the year (or month) we will give awards to the cats for cutest, best behaved, sleepiest cat etc.

You don't have to have a cat friend to join, but it is highly encouraged.

I think it will be a lot of fun, it will make us better at looking after our cats. And also we can work towards improving the lives of less fortunate cats.

Thank you for reading :)
Is it a good idea? Would you join the cat club?

That's amazing, I want to join! 11

I don't think it will work because unless the cats are in charge they won't take part.

Let's face it, it's not for them, it's for the people, so just have fun with other human cat lovers and forget trying to get the cats involved.

Sounds like a good way to annoy the cats in your life. Or accelerate your inner crazy cat lady. Whatever. Have fun?

Nice idea, but you need to be strict on the cat rule. If you're trying to invite cat lovers in your area and not just people you know, then you're allowing anyone's cat into your home. That includes fleas, illnesses, and more. Also, not all cats get along, not all cats are vaccinated, not all cats nails are regularly trimmed, and not all of them are fixed, and more; so what do you plan to do about fighting, marking, and such? Then what if a person doesn't want to keep their cat, and sees this as a good opportunity to just leave their cat at your house?

If you just kept it as people attending, I wouldn't see a problem, but as a cat person myself, I see so many issues with owners just bringing their cats over without strict regulations.
