Is it normal to stay awake all night and hallucinate during the day

Why do the chemicals I need to sleep kick in during the day, causing me to hear voices and dream with my eyes open?

The other day I washed the chocolate off peanut mnm's. This morning I kept imagining/hallucinating that people were flying in front of my car.

Maybe tell your Dr. about your side effects instead of us?

    • It might be if I didn't have to go to work everyday.

        Are you taking Ambian?

Read the side effects of your medicine on the little paper it comes with on the prescription. and consult your doctor ASAP.

Also do not drive anywhere until you stop taking the medicine. It can be really dangerous for you.

Oh sorry I read that wrong. i thought by "chemicals kick in during the day" you meant your medicine. I would definitely go see a doctor and figure out whats going on. It could be schizophrenia, brain tumor or something less serious. But either way let your doctor know whats going on because posting it here will not help you at all. :/

And the only way it would be a sleeping disorder would be if you have insomnia and haven't slept in 24 hours or more. good luck wish you the best<3

  • I was prescribed the instant release ambien for a bit and holy jesus. If I fought the initial sleepiness that it caused me and stayed awake I would have really bad trips. I'd think people where in the house with me I'd sleep walk and all kinds of other insane things. I am lucky I didn't burn the house down.

    • Really? I've been thinking of getting a prescription for this. How does it work otherwise?

Actually maybe I won't even bother now.

      • Yes if you do get them get the control released. This would only happen if I fought the going to sleep that I would trip. But I did start to develop a habit sleep walking and that is why I ultimately quit taking it. I also talked to a few of my friends that had taken it and they had the same issues as well. I would get up in the middle of the night and make a huge meal and of course not remember. I would just see the left over remnants in the kitchen from my feast. I just got really concerned that I would leave the stove on or try and drive my car.
